Loan Energizer's PDF Printer

Brief Summary

Loan Energizer now integrates a PDF Printer driver which will enable you to Save/Email your print jobs (such as loan docs, reports, etc.) as a PDF file. PDF stands for Portable Document Format and is the industry standard file type for sending documents electronically.

Usage

Anywhere in Loan Energizer! where you can print documents or reports, you can click [Save] or [Email] once the PDF Printer has been installed for each workstation wishing to have this ability.

Click [Save] if you wish to save the PDF to your computer.  Loan Energizer! will prompt the user for a location and filename for the report or document set to be saved as.

Click [Email] if you wish to send the PDF via email and you have Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer (or running in your session for Citrix/Terminal Services users).  Loan Energizer will automatically generate the file, and attach it to your email message for you.  You will not be asked for a location and filename.  you simply need to enter the mail recipient addresses and click [Send] from the email message.

How to Set Up the Printer

Setup Instructions

From each workstation you must run EnSetup.exe while logged into that computer as an ADMIN user and MAKE SURE NO OTHER PROGRAMS ARE RUNNING or you will receive an installation error.  In the setup program, choose [Network Options] then [Loan Energizer PDF Printer only].  Make sure that the install TO folder is your local Loan Energizer installation folder (i.e. C:\ENERGIZF) as this is where the printer drivers will be installed and registered to.  Do not use a network path.

After the setup shows that it is finished, you may need to wait a minute for the silent installer to complete.  Then go to the Printers folder in your control panel and RIGHT-CLICK on the "Loan Energizer PDF Printer" and select [PROPERTIES].  If you don't see the printer listed yet, wait a minute, then select View/Refresh, until you see it.

In order for the PDF Printer to behave properly, you must set it to use LEGAL paper size in 3 different places (that all seem  to look the same).

1.  Device Settings Size:  Click on the [Device Settings] tab, and make sure  the Form-To-Tray assignment is set to "Legal".  If not, change it to reflect Legal then click [APPLY] at the bottom.  Don't click [OK] yet as this will close the property sheet and we aren't finished in here yet.

2.  General/Printing Preferences:  Click on the [General] tab, then click [Printing Preferences]

In the [Loan Energizer PDF Printer Printing Preferences page, click [ADVANCED]

On Advanced page, again you must make sure that Legal is selected and click [OK].

3.  Advanced/Printing Preferences:
    Click on the [Advanced] tab,
    then click [Printing Defaults]

In the [Loan Energizer PDF Printer Printing Preferences page, click [ADVANCED] and one final time set the Paper size to Legal and then click OK.

Click [Apply] and [OK] on the main Printer Property sheet to finish and close it.  You are now ready to use the Loan Energizer PDF Printer.

When printing in Loan Energizer, you don't need to pick this printer driver and "print" to it, rather you can simply choose [SAVE] or [EMAIL] to generate the PDFs from your print jobs and have them saved to a file or attached to an email message for sending.
